Description of the Setup
These are two Komatsu machines that can be operated remotely from a control room. This control room contains two operator stations, each equipped with two monitors, giving the operator full control over their respective machine.
Each machine is equipped with a Roundview camera system, consisting of seven cameras, providing full visibility around the machine.
Communication and video transmission between the machines and the control room take place via a wireless connection with directional antennas.
The maximum range of this connection is 1,000 metres in clear line of sight (without obstacles).
Purpose of This Setup
The client chose this remote-control setup because the machines operate in an area where explosives may be present in the ground. Remote operation enables safe working conditions without requiring personnel to enter the risk zone.
